I think that what I also like about Debbie Smyths work is the simple use of materials but using them in complex ways, even though it seems as simple as wrapping thread around some pins, the amount of decision making and measuring it takes to do a task like this is time consuming and can be problematic in the case that the measurements are off and the pins are placed wrongly.
