LEAVES IN TUBES

Experimenting with the tubes and the leaves/plants I think works really well in contrast between materials and equipment, I think that the flowers will most likely decay and mold besides using pva glue because of the nectars and condensation in the tube. However, I think even then the work and tubes will still be effective anyway.

Like mental health, each day can be unpredictable, so hoping that these natural objects to stop their natural cause is not as fitting to me ideally especially considering the theme topic of this project.

TEST TUBES WITH LEAVES

Collection of around 100+ leaves to put into my test tubes
Using Pva glue to try preserve the colour of some of the leaves.

To begin with gathering my materials for my final build up, I went on a trip to my specific place of respite and collected over 100 leaves including twigs and flowers to start putting into my tubes.

Because I picked the leaves and plants by hand, they will shortly start to wither and decay with time they have been picked. So the slow down the process of that decaying stage, I decided to use Pva glue and cover the plants pieces to preserve them of their colour for a longer period of time.

TUTORIAL FEEDBACK

With Julian W

I have set my ideas on defiantly using scientific equipment to use in my fmp work, I want to bring in the concept of using ‘The Issue & The Coping’ by using natural materials such as leaves and combine those with structural equipment to make an interesting contrast.

CONTEXTUAL RESEARCH

Rosa de Jong

I came across a really interesting artist called Rosa de Jong, who uses the idea of a miniature world and displays them within test tube equipment.

I found that this work was quite exciting to look at, by looking at the miniature details in each tube and that there is a contained little world and sections of this world in each tube.

When I saw this to begin with, it made me think instantly about how we each share the same world but individually see it differently.

So looking at other peoples perspectives through these scientific containers that no one can really touch but only see and judge from by looking and speculating what’s being displayed.

I think this really can be used to influence me towards a more set final idea outcome and begin to form a plan of what to do next.

GROUP FEEDBACK

So with the feedback that I have received, there is still a lot to think about and a ways to go in development for ideas and experimental progression.

I am looking forward to seeing where this project will end up and excited to see what final I will have to present.
